I think that at about the same time(s) in ancient Western cultures (culture ?) life spans were considerably shorter (especially if one were a &quot;heretic&quot; in various Catholic eras or of Judaic persuasion during most of the eras intervening BCE to a relative few years ago). In any case, then or now, Japan is a good place to enjoy longevity!
