A Local Perspective on Life in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan.

One Day of No Rain

We finally had a day with no rain! Or at least, I didn’t notice it raining today. It was rather overcast, though, so not exactly a perfect summer day. But I am not complaining! Now let’s just keep our collective fingers crossed and hope that it won’t rain on Saturday. A lot of preparation has gone in to the NIES/AIST Open House this weekend, so it would be a shame if it got rained out.

I don’t have much to report today. I saw a sign advertising Matsuri Tsukuba, so I though I would post a preliminary message about this Tsukuba event.

Matsuri Tsukuba is a festival that is held every year in Tsukuba. This year, it will be held on Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27. If you have never attended the festival, you will definitely want to plan to stay in Tsukuba that weekend. (If you have attended the festival and don’t plan to attend this year, it is probably a good time to plan a trip somewhere else. The traffic jams on that weekend due to the festival are somewhat unpleasant.)

I don’t have any details yet, but when I do get them, I will let you know!
